Picture of Phobos

Phobos was discovered on August 17, 1877 by Asaph Hall. It's a C-type rock and has a 6-mile crater Stickney. Phobos means fear or panic and is named after the Son of the god Ares (or Mars.).Phobos orbits around Mars 3 times a day and is on a collision course with Mars, getting closer to Mars at a rate of 1.8 meters every 100 years. Its highest temperature is -25 degrees fahrenheit while its lowest temperature is -170 degrees fahrenheit. Mass-1.78477nEarths distance of Phobos from the mars-5826 miles. composition-carbonaceous chondritic composition   Atmosphere-none at all  rotation period- 7 hours 39 minutes

Picture of Deimos

Deimos was discovered on August 11, 1877 by Asaph Hall. It's a C-type rock and has a thick regolith as deep as 100 meters. Deimos means dread and is named after one of Mar's (or Ares.) sons. Its craters are generally smaller than 2.5 km in diameter and lacks the grooves and ridges seen on Phobos.like Phobos, it is a small lumpy heavily cratered object and orbits around Mars within 30.3 hours, going at a much slower speed then Phobos. Its highest temperature is -25 degrees Fahrenheit while its lowest temperature is -170 degrees Fahrenheit. mass- .247179nEarths    composition-carbonaceous  atmosphere- none at all distance from mars- 14,573 miles rotation period- 30.3 hours
