The Symbols of Texas

The Texas flag is red, white and blue.  It has one white stripe and one red stripe.  It has one lone star on a field of blue.  It became the state flag of Texas in 1927.

Texas Our Texas is the state song of Texas.  It was adopted in 1929

The bluebonnet is the state flower of Texas.  You can see it along the highways in the spring.

The state bird of Texas is the mockingbird.  It has a grey body with a white chest.  It copies the songs of other birds.

The pecan tree is the state tree of Texas.  It grows nuts called pecans.  People love to eat pecans.

The state pepper of Texas is the jalapeno.  It is spicy.  It is used in many foods for flavor.
