Just like the poverty rates in Africa, Haiti is exposed to poverty just as much. But, still until this day we as a people don’t try to make a change. How would you react if your home was destroyed by an earthquake and also an hurricane. Everyday you have little kids and their parents sleeping on the streets. They don’t have much food or clothes to wear. If this was you, wouldn’t you want to everyone to help get things right? Just knowing that these problems in Haiti could be fixed if people would make simple foundations. It’s sad how mothers worry about how they’re going to feed their kids or where they are going to sleep tonight. They’re mothers that worry themselves everyday about how they’re going to make it through the next day. Honestly, if I was old enough to go and help out them or even donate I would. If I had to go through what they went through I would want help. If Obama cared enough he would try to help them and all these companies that's coming up with new technologies.

Haiti is the poorest country in the Western Hemisphere. Every one out of five farmers depends on their crops to provide their food. Most income in Haiti is made through labour, or the extraction of sand, and other small trades. The poorest rural people in Haiti are, the farmers who don’t own their own boats, people who depend on wage employment, charcoal producers with no other activity, and landless farmers. Haiti, they have limited capacity for response to recurrent natural crises and to the effects of political instability. Also, the different diseases they have because of shabby housing and the absence of social assistance. Families are becoming indebted for life because they self their belongings to get the treatments needed.

The poor have to live one day at time and cannot rely on social safety nets or any form of government support. Like, why aren’t they able to rely on the government? If we’re supposed to be a unity and stick together, than they should receive the help they need. I know it’s more problems that the government has to take care of, but that doesn’t mean that you just forget about Haiti. Thousands of people are losing their lives because America is forgetting about them. Maybe if America would have did a better job with helping Haiti, then the problem would not be as big. We could help to send treatments, shelter, and more food there. Just because the earthquake happened four years ago, people still need guidance and assistance, because they literally lost everything. Something can be done, if you have nothing to do with your life, start by making a change in Haiti.

Little kids are born into an environment that isn't healthy and it's not stabilized. It sucks, because they can not do anything about it. They grow up wondering why their lives are different than others. Also, not having a clue in the world, as of the environment they were born into. I wonder when they get older will they understand? Will they already have adapted to their environments to where it does not affect them as much? Because they have no help or support really, it dies them off more too. They are introduced to all these diseases. Without many medicines or hospitalization, they die out faster.
