is in the village!
First and foremost I am a mom. Sam is a junior in college and majoring in finance. She just accepted a summer internship at with a major company. Gabriel is a junior in high school and seriously thinking about college. His hope/dream is to attend MIT and major in either physics or computer programming.
I am an Instructional Specialist for the eMINTS National Center in Columbia, Missouri. I live 2 hours south of St. Louis in a town of less than 300 people. My husband of 23 years is a high school teacher.
I love to be outside and grow things, especially things w ewill eat. During gardening season my husband brings my meals to me outside knowing that I won't come in until it is too dark to see (unless of course I am working on the side of the house with the dusk-to-dawn light!). I love to capture the world through the lens of my camera. This helps me see things I wouldn't necessarily see or even notice.
I truly believe that learning should be fun. My fondest memories in school were the times when the teacher made learning enjoyable not only for the students, but for the teacher as well. That is still how I approach teaching today. I try to create learning experiences that are engaging, active, and FUN!
I also believe that people need to be connected to each other in some way. Today's technology provides a multitude of ways to learn, share and grow. I have entered into some amazing discussions, discovered new tools, and captured more ideas than I could ever use. I grow as a person and professional, each and every day, because of others I have come to know online.
