ODU Webb Center evacuated for threat

Norfolk, Virginia

On October 24th at 2pm, Old Dominion University shut down the university's biggest building on campus. The ODU Webb Center, which contains the schools main cafeteria and several main offices was evacuated by local, state and federal police do to a potential threat against the building. The threat was not specified but came in the form of a response to a racial comment made on the ODU Confessions Facebook page.

ODU notified the students of the events taking place via twitter and email and continued to update them until 3:30pm. After searching the facility, no threats were found and students were allowed to reenter the building. Classes carried on as scheduled during the entire fiasco, the only building affected was the Webb Center.
