White House launches its website, www.whitehouse.gov

45 Million people worldwide are using the internet.

1998

Google opens its first office in California.

2003

The Apple iTunes store is created.

2005

Youtube.com is launched.

2011

The Royal Wedding is the biggest event ever watched on the Internet.
