& Searching

While preparing for research here are websites for you to review and learn or review searching, copyright and Creative Commons

Creative Commons

Creative Commons is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to expanding the range of creative works available to others to build upon legally and share.  This type of license allows the copyright holder to decide if others can reuse, modify, adapt or build upon for personal and commercial use.

What is copyright?  Copyright is a legal right created by the law of a country, that grants the creator of an original work exclusive rights to its use and distribution, usually for a limited time, with the intention of enabling the creator (e.g. the photographer of a photograph or the author of a book) to receive compensation for their intellectual effort. What is a boolean search?  A type of search allowing users to combine keywords with operators such as AND, NOT and OR to further produce more relevant results. For example, a Boolean search could be "hotel" AND "New York". This would limit the search results to only those documents containing the two keywords.
