Modern Day Genocides
Genocide- The killing of a large group of people, typically a certain ethnic group or race.
It usually occurs when a certain group disagrees with another and one takes it to an extreme measures
Genocides in Iraq
Saddam Hussien led a genocidal Campaign against the Kurdish people in the 1980's. The Kurdish people were tied and lined up and then executed into mass graves. Women and children were put into camps under horrid conditions and boys and young men of fighting age were executed with no exception.

Genocide in Somalia
Somalia is made up of 3 main tribes after going to war and losing decisively the country went into an economic crisis and anarchy took in.
On May 27, 1988 Siad Barre gave instructions to exterminate all members of the Isaaq tribe. Military forces under the command of Mohammed Said Hersi began aerial and artillery bombardment of the three cities in which the Isaaq lived: Hargeisa, Berbera and Bur’o.
