The sunflower is one of the few crops that originated in North America.
It takes 10 to 14 days for the sunflower seed to germinate, but it takes the flower 80 to 120 days for it completely mature. The sunflower does not need any special treatment.
For a sunflower to grow they need to be in direct sunlight. The base of the sunflower must be 44 degrees Fahrenheit. A sunflower seed should be planted 1.5 to 2.5 inches into the ground and should be 2 to 4 inches apart, or if it's being planted in rows the seeds should be 3 feet apart.
