The Diesel Engine
The diesel engine was invented in 1897 by Rudolf Diesel and its design was based off the gas engine created by Nikolaus.
The diesel engine is a engine that involves the combustion of a suitable fuel inside a cylinder containing a piston, whose motion results from the transformation of thermal energy into mechanical work.
the pros on the diesel engine was that the navy started to mainly us it and still use diesel engine to this day. The cons is that the diesel engine was poluting the air when ever it was in use.
In a diesel engine, the fuel is sprayed into the combustion chambers through fuel injector nozzles and when the air in each chamber has been placed under great pressure that it’s hot enough to ignite the fuel spontaneously.
this is todays deisel engine and it is still used for the samething as before and did not change that much.
