The Nile River was a great help in the Egyptian times. It not only was a very big water source it provided lots of other things. One thing was very fertile land all around the Nile river which was great for farming which in those times help with a lot of wheat and grains. Also it then was a great way of transportation. The river itself flowed north so if you wanted to go up stream you would just let the current take you and if you wanted to go south the wind normally blew south so you would put up you sails and let the wind blow you.
