Brown vs. Board of Education
The court declared State laws establishing separate public schools for black and white students to be unconstitutional. It happened in 1954, Because of the radical segregationn of children in public schools.
Integration of Central High School
Nine black students enrolled at an all-white school, and then proved a point that segregation in public schools is unconstitutional.Govenor Orval Fabus ordered the National Guard to surround the school in order to keep from people barging in and protesting more. This happened in 1957.
Murder of NAACP leader medgar events
In 1963, assasination of Medgar Evers occured. He was shot by Byron De La Beckwith. Medgar brought attention to african americans to vote and recruit them into the civil rights movement.
Integrigation of the University of Mississippi
People protested the enrollment of James Meredith a black airforce veteran attempting to integrate the all-white school. This happened in 1962, and locals, students, and segrgationists where involved with the event.
Murder of Martin Luther King
The assassination of Martin Luther king happened on 1964. The killer was named James Earl ray. Martin Luther King was assassinated for being black.He was planning on making a speech about sanitation workers.

The three men where killed by the KuKlux Klan, they were working on the freedom sumner campaign attempting to register African Americans to vote after they had been deisfranchised
Boycott of segregation bus system
This event all started with Rosa Parks. It was a 13-month protest on segregation on public busses. It was from 1954-1956 and happened in Montgomery, Alabama.This all started when Rosa Parks would not give up her seat to a white man when he had asked causing racial descrimination among multiple citizens.
March for voting rights in Montegomary
Martin Luther king and many other protestors walked across the Selma bridge in Alabama on 1965. During this time, multiple cops had invaded the bridge area in order stand against the protestors. Multiple people were shot and killed.
Four girls killed
On September 15,1O963 a bomb had exploded before Sunday church services at the 16th Street Baptist Chruch in Birmingham, Alabama. The Church served as a meeting-place for civil rights leaders. Four young girls were killed and many other injuries.The violent clash between protesters and police drawed attention to the hard-fought, often dangerous struggle for civil rights for African Americans.
Desegregation campaign, Collison of city police and KKK exposed
In early 1963, the Souther Christian Leadership Conference brought attention to the integration efforts of the African Americans in Birmingham, Alabama. The Campaign was led by Martin Luther King, Jr, James Bevel, and Fred Shuttlesworth. The campaign was between young black students and whit civic athourites and eventually led the city to change its discrimination laws.

In 1961, the Freedom Riders who are civil rights activists, had ridden interstate buses into the segregated southern United State. They had wanted to challenge the non-enforcement of the United States Supreme Court. The use of riding the white bus section caused harrasing and attacks from the Ku Klux Klan.
I have a dream speech
On August 28th, 1963 In Washington D.C, Martin Luther king gave his speech "I have a dream".He said "I am happy to join with you today in what will go down in history as the greatest demonstration for freedom in the history of our nation". Martin Luther Kings speech was a way to explain to everyone that every one of us is equal and our skin color should not hold us back for doing certain things.
