Nadia Comaneci was born November 12, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghe-Dej, Romania near the Carpathian mountains. Her parents are Alexandria and Gheorghe. When she was 7, she scored 13th place in the Romanian National junior championships. Her coach, Bela Karolyi gave her a doll, and she always carried it around for good luck at her meets. She would never say no to her coach, she would just keep on trying and trying. Before she even started gymnastics at age six, she was noticed by her coach; when she was out trying gymnastics during recess at school.

Nadia Comaneci made a perfect ten at the 1976 Olympic games in Montreal, Canada at age 14. She was the first woman in gymnastics to win a perfect ten in the Olympics. She won gold medals for the balance beam, uneven bars, and an individual all-around. She also won one silver medal for her floor routine. The Romanian team came in second in the Olympics. Nadia’s performance made people think of her as the high expectation.
Nadia has two moves that she made up, one is a toe-on, half turn to a back flip dismount. The other move is a cast to straddle front flip that is a release move. There is a difficulty level that rates from an A-G, her difficulty was leveled an E.

Nadia Comaneci retired from gymnastics at the age of 20. after she retired, she moved to the USA.
