Student Showcase

Wow, what a wonderful Student Showcase we had! Thank you to all of you who took time out of your busy schedule and bared the weather to come to the Student Showcase and see all of the wonderful things your child has been working. I know it meant a lot to the students to have you here. If you were unable to attend last night but would like to reschedule, please let me know.

Bricks 4 Kidz

With the help of PTA, we are excited to bring Bricks 4 Kidz to Line Creek this April!

"Bricks 4 Kidz classes provide an extraordinary atmosphere for children, where we learn, we build, we play… with LEGO® Bricks. Programs are built around our proprietary model plans, designed by engineers and architects, with exciting themes such as space, construction, and amusement parks. Our specially designed project kits and theme-based models provide the building blocks for the Bricks 4 Kidz approach to educational play. At Bricks 4 Kidz, we believe that kids learn best through activities that engage their curiosity and creativity."

The second graders at Line Creek will get to experience Bricks 4 Kidz on April 8th from 9:00-11:30. We are asking for 6 parent volunteers to help with this event. If you are interested in volunteering to help with Bricks for Kidz, please let me know by Friday, March 13th. If more than 6 parents volunteer, there will be a random drawing. Please note that this is an event for Line Creek students and we ask that parent volunteers refrain from bringing non-school-aged siblings.

Sci-Friday

Today was Sci-Friday at Line Creek! We had fun synergizing with our fifth grade buddies and creating a simple machines power point. Because the second graders have already learned about simple machines and the fifth graders are just beginning this unit, it was fun for the second graders to be able to be the "experts" in this area today!

Habit 6: Synergize

Congratulations to Peyton who is this month's Leadership Luncheon winner! Peyton was voted on by her peers as a student who does a great job of using the habit "synergize." Synergize means to work well with others, value others' strengths, and seek out other people's ideas to solve problems. Next month's habit will be Habit 7: Sharpen the Saw.
