CARRYING CAPACITY AND CHANGES IN POPULATIONS
-------------------------------------
biological species in an environment in the maximum population size of the species that the environment can sustain indefinitely given the food habitat water and other necessities available in the environment .

limiting factors and predator/prey relationships
-----------------------------------------
the factor that limits the reaction rate in any physiological process governed by many variables

a shark is one of the main predators in a aquatic ecosystem . temperature is a important factor affecting the distribution of sharks . availability to suitable prey will also impact population growth rates .

energy roles
producer : plankton
consumer : fish
decomposers : seaweed and/or crabs

seaweed gets its energy from the sunlight shining through the water .decomposers get their energy off of waste .

producers are important in every ecosystem because they make their own food . consumers are animals the and they get their energy from the producers or from organisms that eat producers .

food chains and food webs .

a food web is more realistic than a food chain because a food web consist of all the different food chains , better presenting the relationship of each living thing to another within the aquatic ecosystem .

if the shark were to be removed from the food web than the population on marlins and smaller sharks would increase because there will be no top predator to complete the food web .
