The maximum energy it can produce is 1000 watts of sunlight per square meter of surface. A typical solar panel produces around 200 watts of power. It does not do any pollution, but it requires you to mine the minerals that you need to build the thing to store sunlight. It can only be done where there is sunlight. If it's mostly night then it is probably not the best idea to put it there. It is the best for the future because the sun is still going to be here for like a billion more years. We can use it until it disappears in the future.
