People with Schizophrenia hear voices that no one else can. They think that other people are trying to control them, and can very often be led to insanity. People with Schizophrenia can sometimes go hours without moving or talking.
Schizophrenia affects about 1.1% of the population of 18 years of age. There's around 200,000 cases a year.
Hallucinations are the most common symptom along with random thoughts. If you can't focus on one thing and/or have hallucinations, you may have this condition. Additionally, involuntary movements may be a symptom.
There are a lot of medications to treat symptoms of Schizophrenia, but not outright cure it.
People should seek a doctor for diagnosis, and eventually a doctor and psychiatrist for medication and treatment if positive.
The resources that are available are websites such as the one below. The best resource is doctors and medicine however, as they will give the best assessment.
