The Actors: All Males
All actors in this time we're male
Boys who had been recruited from the choir schools and trained professionally played the female roles.
The plays were performed contemporary Elizabethan costumes, and women's clothing of the day were very concealing, with long skirts, and extremely narrow waists.
Women at the time also wore elaborate wigs and punched their faces heavily.
So the transformation of boy into women characters were not so unbelievable.
