Clostridium perfringens is one of the most common cases of food poisoning in the United States. This type of bacteria causes nearly a million illnesses each year. The symptoms often occur when foods are prepared in large quantities and are then kept warm for a long time before serving. Older adults, infant, and young children are at risks in getting this food poison. The incubation period will take from 6-24 hours and the duration of this illness is 24 hours or less, but in servere cases symptoms may last 1-2 weeks. If you do get this illness you must drink plenty of fluids and if you can not drink enough fluids to prevent dehydration, call your doctor.
