The time line of LEGO
1932. Ole establishes his business in the village of Billand, Denmark. His firm manufactures stepladders, ironing boards, stools and wooden toys. Ole's son Godtfred starts working in the business at the age of 12. 1934. The name LEGO, formed from the Danish words ''LEg GOdt'' [''play well'']. In Latin the word LEGO means ''I put together''. The firm now has 6-7 employees. 1935. The business manufactures its first ever wooden duck. 1936. Godtfred cuts Ole kirk's motto''only the best is good enough''. And hangs it up in the workshop. 1937. Godtfred starts creating models. When he is only 17 years old. 1939. The LEGO factory has 10 employees.
