Adult and Child CPR

Adult and child Cpr are almost the same the only difference is the depth your hands go .

The first step is to check the seine for anything that is unsafe.

Then call out to the patient to see if he or she is responsive.

Call 911.

Give 30 chest compressiones at 100 a min. (adult - 2 in. child- 1/3 the depth of the chest) followed by 2 rescue breaths each 1 second long then continue CPR until the e.m.s. arrives.

Infant CPR

Check the scene.

Check if the patient is responsive.

Call 911.

Give 30 chest compressions at 100 a min approximately 1/3 of the chest deep follow with 2 rescue breaths making sure to cover the baby's mouth and nose (check the chest and see if it is rising)

Repeat CPR until ems arrives.

Adult and Child Concious Choking

Check the scene for safety.

Call out the the person. Ask," are you choking "?

Call 911

Give abdominal thrusts until the object comes out or the patient feints the object comes out or the ems arrives

Infant Conscious Choking

Check the scene for safety

Call 911

Give 5 back slaps

Follow that by giving 5 Chest compressions

Repeat back slaps and chest compressions until object comes out or ems arrives or the baby goes unconcious ot the object comes out.

Adult and Child Unconscus choking

Check the scene

If the adult or child goes unconscious while you are holding him or her lower them to the ground\Check the person

Call 911

Give 30 chest compressiones at 100 a min. (adult - 2 in. child- 1/3 the depth of the chest) followed by 2 rescue breaths each 1 second long then continue CPR until the e.m.s. arrives or the patient shows signs of life.

Infant uncounschouse choking

Check the scene

Check the Baby tickle feet to see if he is responsive

Call 911

Give 30 chest compressiones at 100 a min using 2 fingers in the middle of the chest between the nipples followed by 2 rescue breaths each 1 second long then continue CPR until the e.m.s. arrives or the baby showes signs of life.

Bleeding

Check the scene

Call 911

Tell the person "I can help " or "can I help you"

Apply pressure to the wound with gauze

Wrap from the wound from the bottom up.

AED

Check the scene and make sure it is safe to use an aed

Check the person

Call 911

Turn on AED

Clear the Chest ( if You Have to shave the chest )

Apply pads (Adult-Place one pad on the patients upper right chest above the nipple. Place the other pad on the patients lower left ribs below the arm pit)(For children ages 1-8, an AED with child pads place pads on the interior lateral position)(Infant-place the pads on the front and back of child)

Wait if the aed says shock advised wait and press shock button when it says

Follow instructions given from the aed
