Divergent Plate Boundaries:

When two different plates slowly move away from each other.

Example: East African Rift system

Convergent plate Boundaries:

When two different plates slowly collide.

They can either run into each other, or one goes under the other.

Example: Appalachian Mountains.

Transform plate Boundaries:

When two different plates are moving slowly beside each other.

Witch also often cause earth quakes!

Examples: The San Andreas fault zone.
