the geometry guide for geeks

Sphere: The set of all points in a space equidistant from a given point called the center of the sphere.

Cube: A polyhedron with six congruent square faces

3) Rectangle

Rectangle: A parallelogram with four right angles

4) Cone

Cone: A solid that has one circular base and a vertex that is not in the same plane as the base

5) circle

Circle: The set of all points in a plane that are equidistant from a given point called the center of the circle

6) Angle Bisector

Angle Bisector: A ray that divides an angle into two angels that are congruent.

7) Acute Angle

Acute Angle: An angle with the measurements between 0 degrees and 90 degrees

8) Line

Line: A line has one dimension. It usually represented by a straight line with two arrowheads to indicate that the line extends without end in to directions.

9) Right Angle

Right Angle:An angle with measure equal to 90 degrees

10) Cylinder

Cylinder: A solid with congruent circular bases that lie in parallel planes

11) Semicircle

Semicircle: An arc with endpoints that are the endpoints of a diameter of a circle.

12) Vertical lines

Vertical lines: Two angles who se sides form two pairs of opposite rays

13) Vertical Lines

Vertical Lines: A line that runs up and down

14) Concentric Circles

Concentric Circles: circles that share the same center, axis or origin

15) pentagon

Pentagon: A polygon with five sides

16) Horizontal Lines

Horizontal Lines:

17) Triangle

Triangle: A polygon with three sides

18) Trapezoid

Trapezoid: A quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides, called bases. The non parallel sides are legs.

19) Tangent of a Circle

Tangent of a circle: A line in the place of a circle that intersects the circle exactly one point, the point of tangency.

20) Supplementary Angles

Supplementary Angles: Two Angles whose measures have the sum 180. The sum of the measures of an angle and its supplement is 180.

21) Square

Square: A parallelogram with four congruent sides and four right angles

22) Congruent Circles

Congruent circles: Two circles that have the same radius

23) Horizontal Lines

Horizontal Lines: A line that runs from left to right across the page

24) octagon

Octagon: A polygon with eight sides

25) Parallel Lines

Parallel Lines: Two lines that do not intersect and are coplanar
