Chlorophyta division also know as green algae can grow into many shapes and sizes. It looks like green slime in the water. Green algae can be unicellular or multicellular. They make their own organic carbon. They are called self feeders. They take dissolved co2 and water from the environment and use solar energy to turn it into glucose to release stored energy that they need to grow, repair, and reproduce. Some algae attach itself to rocks so it don't move much. Others are carried in moving. It lives in water year around but it grows a lot slower in winter than summer.
