Florence Grifith Joyner

Florence Grifith Joyner was born December 21, 1959 L.A, California. She started running at the age of seven. When she was a kid she would chase after rabbits at her dads house. In her later years she started running track with her school. Then after she quit she became a banker.
She then met her old coach at the bank she was working at, and he offered her to start training in the olympics. she agreed to start training again. Now being coached by Bob Kersee. 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles she won a silver medal in the 200 meter run. In 1987 she got married and hired her husband as her coach. she started training for the 1988 Olympic Games with Bob Kersee. In the Olympics she took home a gold in 4-by-100 meter relay, and a gold in the 100 and 200 meter run aswell as a silver in 4-by-400 meter relay. Even though she died she still hold world records on the 100 and 200 meter runs with a 10.49 seconds in the 100 and 21.34 in the 200.and died September 21, 1998
