Abiotic Factors

Carrying Capacity

the number of people, other living organisms, or crops that a region can support without environmental degradation

Limiting Factors

A factor present in an environment that controls a process, particularly the growth, abundance or distribution of a population of organisms in an ecosystem.

Energy Roles

Energy roles are the role that each plant or animal play in a food web or food chain.

Food chains and Food webs

a system of interlocking and interdependent food chains.

Trophic Levels And Energy Pyramids

  1. An energy pyramid is a graphical model of energy flow in a community. The different levels represent different groups of organisms that might compose a food chain. From the bottom-up, they are as follows: Producers — bring energy from nonliving sources into the community.

biological phenomenon, indicating growth or turning movement of a biological organism, usually a plant, in response to an environmental stimulus.

Role Of Decomposers

Decomposers and scavengers break down dead plants and animals. They also break down the waste (poop) of other organisms. Decomposers are very important for any ecosystem. If they weren't in the ecosystem, the plants would not get essential nutrients, and dead matter and waste would pile up.
