My name is Suyash K. I go to Holman Middle School. My favorite sport is soccer and my favorite team is Chelsea from the Barklay Premier League. On Chelsea my favorite player is Eden Hazard. I have one sibling. Assassins Creed is my favorite video game.
I created this site because I want people to know Walter Payton and who he was. He was very influencial to lots of kids back then.
Desription Paragraph Early Life
On July 25, 1954 in Columbia, Mississippi Walter Jerry Payton was born. He has one brother(Eddie Payton)and one sister (Pam Payton).Walter and his family grew up in Columbia, Mississippi and they grew in the poor part of the area. Early in Walters life there was still segregation. Mr. Payton was really strict and Mrs.Payton was really easy going. Before Walter played football he played semi-pro baseball.All three of the siblings spent most of their time outside. They played games like football,basketball,and fishing. They mostly go out on foot because their dad used to take their truck to work. Walter Payton says because the work we did in the yard helped my endurance.All three of the children were so responsible. Walter was really good at playing the drums. He played the drums until he was in the senior year. When he was in the senior year he switched to football.
Cause and Effect
Every year in the summer his mom would a make a small garden that would like a big one. She made the boys do the work and let their sister get a free be. When Walter remembers this time he always seems happy because it helped them out so much. His mom made them do this because she wanted to show them what hard work is and she also wanted them to stay out of trouble. Walter was also happy because this yard work helped his strength and endurance build up. They would have to spread 100 pounds of topsoil and the only thing they had was a small wheelbarrow.
In 1975 Walter Payton got selected by the Chicago Bears from Jackson State. On October 7, 1984 Walter Payton broke Jim Brown's for the all-time leading rusher. A year after Walter broke the record, he led the 1985 Chicago Bears to win SuperBowl XX. After spending 12 years playing running back for the Chicago Bears Walter finally retired out of the NFL. In 1996 he got inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame. In the year of 1993 Walter got inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.
Walter Payton died on November 1,1999 of a lung illness. He married a women called Connie Payton. He has one son (Jarrett Payton) and one daughter ( Brittney Payton). Jarret Payton plays football for the Chicago Slaughters.
