The Last Supper
By Chase Brown
The Last Supper was the feast of the Passover. This was the last time Jesus would eat with all of his disciples before he would be crucified.
During their dinner, Jesus told the disciples that one of them would betray him. They all thought that they could never betray Jesus. Jesus basically said that Judas was the one to betray him. Jesus also said that it would be better for this man to not even be born.
The Last Supper is when Jesus gave the disciples the instructions of the Eucharist and Communion. "While they were eating, Jesus took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and gave it to his disciples, saying, “Take and eat; this is my body.'" (Matthew 26:26) This was the first instruction Jesus gave to his disciples. The next instruction was, "Then he took a cup, and when he had given thanks, he gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. This is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you, I will not drink from this fruit of the vine from now on until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom.'" (Matthew 26:27-29)
