When was eleven he use to decorate his room with rockets and model air planes. He even built his two sisters Barbie doll moon houses. He also loved his chemistry set. He liked to watch nonfiction shows like “Star Trek” and “Lost in Space”. He went to University of Washington to study physics and astronomy. He graduated with honors.

What Was His Accomplishment

He was the first African American to go into space. He spent 24 days 18 hours and 8 minutes in space. Anderson logged over211 hours in space. He circled the earth 138 times. One his second flight he completed 80 experiments. He was the first African American to visit the space station Mir. When him and his crew were coming back to space their space shuttle bursted 16 minutes before landing. He died at age 43. As a memorial they built a statue of him.

Conclusion

Michael has many accomplishments He’s also been a great role model for his two daughters. Once again Michael always had a passion for science. He was kind brave and a gentle man and forgiving.
