How does the type of circuit affect the strand of Christmas lights with a burned light bulb ?
The Independent Variables: Parallel Circuit
Dependent Variable: Burned out light bulb
If the Christmas lights are arranged in a parallel circuit when 1 bulb bursts (is removed) the other bulbs will light up.
I noticed that when I connected the wires with the bulbs and battery they all lit up. They were really bright.
When I removed 1 bulb the other 2 were still lit up. And they were still bright.
If the Christmas light are arranged in a Series circuit then when 1 bulb bursts (is removed) the other bulbs will not light up.
When I connected the wires with the 3 bulbs and battery the did turn on but they weren't that bright.
When I removed 1 bulb the other 2 didn't light up so they turned off.
A Parallel circuit is the best series to use for Christmas lights. That's because the lights are really bright. Even though one messes up the other two stay light up. So 1 out of 3 will mess up . That's why I think the Parallel circuit is a better choice.
