Fourth of July

How the Fourth of July Started in 1776

July 4th is a national holiday. It started in 1776. America did not want to be part of England any more. They wanted to be their own country. Why did the colonies have to pay taxes when something was made out of paper? England wanted to get more money. Why did they have to pay a country that did not give them rights?

Most of the stuff from the old time has something to do with July 4th. America wanted to be independent for themselves. The Declaration of Independence was signed by famous people.

Activities on the Fourth of July are fireworks, parades and picnics.

New York was an important place and they were part of the colonies. The Statue of Liberty is part of our freedom.
