What is it?

A free mobile app that can be used by both english speakers learning a second language or non-english speakers who are learning english.

How can it be used?

This app could be used in any second language classroom for class activities and extra practice. Another very useful application of this app would be for ESL students who are struggling with their english comprehension or speaking/writing skills.

Shakespeare Pro

What is it?

This app includes the complete works of William Shakespeare. It currently costs $9.99 and allows the user access to Shakespeare's poems, sonnets, and plays along with a search function to clarify the meaning of any word.

How can it be used?

This app would be great for any high school english class. They could read the Shakespeare work that they are currently working on through this app and students can get meaning clarification of any word they don't understand. This will help reduce student frustration while reading Shakespeare as confusing words can be looked up easily and instantly.

The Chemical Touch

What is it?

This app costs $0.99 and includes the entire periodic table of elements. When any given element is selected, the app gives specific information about that element such as atomic mass, density, boiling point, etc. There is also the option of opening a Wikipedia page on that element when the element is selected.

How can it be used?

This app can be used in a wide variety of ways in the classroom. Depending on the grade level/class, the app could be used to simply learn general information about the elements or to participate in more complex activities on the app that would be better suited to a 20 or 30 level chemistry class.

3D Cell Simulation and Stain Tool

What is it?

This free app allows users to explore cell structures in-depth. It includes descriptions of the function of different cell components and how they work in relation to the other parts of the cell.

How can it be used?

This app can be used in a general science class as well as biology classes. A fun activity for the students to try would be making their own functioning cells and then comparing and explaining why they built it the way they did.

EVERNOTE

What is it?

Evernote is a comprehensive note taking and storing app that can be downloaded onto mobile devices. The notes can be images, webpages, audio memos, or handwritten.

How can it be used?

This app can be incredibly helpful to students in all of their subjects. It allows them to organize their notes by class and is not limited to just text notes. The notes can be any format, which is helpful to students who don't learn well with classic text-format notes.
