_get to know the student's names this makes them feel valued
-balance authority with an attitude of friendliness
-use different techniques to build relations depending on grade level   
Ex: ASK ABOUT THINGS LIKE GAMES OR FAMILY
-DONT ACT INAPPROPRIATELY TO A STUDENT'S COMMENT.
-ACTUALLY USE THE INFORMATION YOU GOT FROM THE FIRST DAY
-SCHEDUAL BONDING TIME

Respect


-it is one of the most essential things for a classroom to work.
-teachers should not only expect respect but also give it.
-use group activities to break the ice this allows them to respect each others opinions.
EX:DONT LET STUDENTS TEASE ABOUT SOEONE'S ANSWER IN A GROUP DISCUSSION

Student involvement

-when teachers ask the students for feedback it makes them feel their opinions are valued.
-it helps them gain a sense or responsibility
-they may come up with a better resolution to a problem

-they can tell you which activities were most helpful and fun
-this builds bonds
EX: don't let students tease someone on their opinion

Class identity

-it starts with the students seeing each other as a group.
-classroom routine, traditions, and experiences build a bond.
Ex: socratic seminars
