What Is The Bill of Rights?

In the United States, the Bill of Rights is the first ten amendments to the Constitution. Purpose of the Bill of Rights is to provide specific freedoms to citizens & limit the power of government

The Ten Amendments -

Amendment 1: freedom of religion, speech, press, & assembly, right of petition   

Amendment 2: right tobear arms

Amendment 3: limit on quartering of troops

Amendment 4: protection against unreasonable search & seizure

Amendment 5: due process, double jeopardy; self incrimination

Amendment 6: right to speedy trial

Amendment 7: trial by jury in civil cases

Amendment 8: no excessive bail or fine; no cruel or unusual punishment

Amendment 9: people retain rights

Amendment 10: powers not delegated to US to states or people
