How atomic bomb works!
An atom bomb works by initiating a nuclear chain reaction, which releases a huge amount of energy relative to conventional explosives. Per unit volume, an atom bomb may be millions or billions of times more powerful than TNT. Nuclear reactions occur when neutrons are fired at closely packed atoms with heavy nuclei (uranium or plutonium isotopes). These heavy nuclei break apart into lighter nuclei when hit by a neutron, in turn generating more neutrons which bombard other nuclei, creating a chain reaction.
History of Atomic Bomb dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki!
The United States were the first to use atomic weaponry during time of war. When they dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima it was said it ended World War ll, yet started the cold war. On August 6, 1945 American bomber Enola Gay dropped a five-ton bomb over the Japanese city Hiroshima. The equivalent to the five-ton bomb is the power of 15,000 tons of TNT. It killed about 80,000 people immediately. People ended up die weeks later from radiation poisoning and wounds. Three days later they dropped another bomb on the Japanese city Nagasaki, killing about 40,000 more people. Due to the deaths of 120,000 people Japan the announced their surrender.
