December 8-12,2014: 3rd-5th: Force and movement: Artist Jackson Pollock. Pollock's work is energy and motion made visible. U tube on Jackson Pollock. The children will make a painting by dribbling paint onto black paper.

We have been working with matter in grades K-3. We have talked about liquids and this week we will talk about gases. Grades 4 and 5 we are talking about Friction, force and motion, We used the example of running our warmups laps. We will continue by demonstrating with PE equipment.

a lesson on Vibration with water and a tuning fork. I have put a bluejay in the power point for the moment of Silence because on the Science test our students did 't know what a blue jay was.

December 15-19, 2014: K-2nd: Cold to heat. I will discuss how snow changes to liquid when it warms and melts.

December 15-19, 2014: 3rd -5th: The children will finish their energy pictures.

January 6-9, 2015: K-2nd: Day/Night- The children will make a day and night picture that will show the sun and moon, positive and negative space, and opposites. We will discuss what it is done during the day and what is done during the night. 3rd-5th: Water Cycle:Water Cycle Book: The children will fold a paper to the middle. Then cut on each side in the middle to the fold. On the outside they will write on each section-evaporation, condensation, precipitation, and collection. Then open to the inside and draw a tree, water, sun, and clouds.
