-Around 1/5 of cancer deaths in the United states are associated with obesity.

-Cancer in obese people is often detected late.

-Cytokines help an established tumor grow.

-When fat cells cannot get enough oxygen the fat tissue gets thicker.

-Ample evidence exists that fat animals are more likely to develop cancer than lean animals.


Most obese women had a 62% increase in their risk of dying from cancer while men only had a 52%  in their risk as of 2013.
