Poem #1: Simile

Paraphrasing

She is crazy like a rooster

But I still love her like she's my sister

Her hair is dark

And looks like the night sky

Her skin is like flour

She looks like the twilight vampires

Why this poem is a Simile

This poem is a simile because it compares two unlike things using like or as throughout the poem. Some examples of similes in this poem would be when it says "She is as crazy as a rooster" and when it says "Still I love her like a sister." Also it says,"Her skin is as pale as flour."

All the animals play their own games with each other. They make lots of noises and have lots of fun.

This poem is personification because it talks about animals doing things that humans do. Some examples of personification would be when it says "Robins talk and gossip" because robins cant talk or gossip. Another example would be when it says "Squirrels skip and box one another."

This poem is about rabbits that run around in fields and play. They go around looking for carrots and trampling the fields.

This poem is alliteration because it uses the letter r in a lot of the words like when it says "rabbits running." Also it says "green grass" and "sniffing, scents and snacks."

This poem is hyperbole because it says the house is the size of a postage stamp and usually a yard isn't that small. Also it says his mouth could drink a whole river which means he could drink a lot, but he can't really drink a whole river.
