Announcements 3/16 - 3/20

Students in Liberia

Hello everyone!

This past week I have been listening to the audio book I Am Malala: The Girl Who Stood Up for Education and Was Shot by the Taliban and as I was listening to the book it inspired me to read more articles and look at pictures of students that struggled to learn and attend school. I became obsessed with looking at these pictures and seeing the look of determination in the student's eyes, those students who risk so much to be able to learn. It gave me the idea to share some of these images with you. Perhaps it will give you a new-found appreciation for how easily accessible education is here in this country.

I will not post everyday. I will probably post a picture once a week. But this will give you time to reflect on the image and think about your own education. It may even give you pause when you want to complain about an upcoming exam, or a written assignment. Think about the students in the image...

Children in other countries take education more seriously than in America, in my opinion. In the picture, I see students that are very eager to learn, wanting knowledge...Aljonae Nelson

😄 Aljonae! I'm very happy that you commented on this. I think that many children in American treat education seriously, but some may need extra motivation to get on board with their learning. My hope with these new announcements is to provide some of that motivation.
