Writings and Career

Edgar Allan Poe was a famous writer in the 1800's. One of his most famous poems was called, "The Raven". In 1826, Poe was a student at the University of Virginia. His first book, "Tamerlane and Other Poems", was published in 1827, which is the same year that he enlisted in the U.S. Army. 2 years later, Poe was discharged.

Poe wrote a lot of books and poems in his career. He wrote many horror stories, like "Hop-Frog" and "The Black Cat". You can find more of his scary stories here.
