Aquafina Water Bottles

Materials Used: Oil is the main factor, but the bottle is made of polyethylene terephthalate because it is both strong and light.

Water Bottle Process:

1. The first stage is stretch blow molding where the polyethylene is heated and placed in a mold, creating the shape of the bottle.

2. Another piece of plastic is then added to one end of the bottle, creating the bottom of the bottle.

3. The bottle is then removed from the mold and the plastic is trimmed off, finishing off the bottle and it is ready to be filled with water.

4. The water put in the bottles is purified through a 7 step process called HydRO-7, since the water used comes from public water sources.

How is it transported?: The water bottles are transported by planes or ships to different manufactures all over the world.

Where is it sold?: The bottles are sold in gas stations and grocery stores all over the United States and the world.
