Background- William Lloyd was a journalist when he was just 13 years old. He got a job as a journeyman printer and editor for the National Philanthropist, a newspaper dedicated to temperance and reform. When he was 25 he joined the American Colonization society. Which was to make the amount of slaves free slaves decrease. He wanted slavery to end so he stopped being in this group, because he thought that this was an anti slave group.
Accomplishments- William Lloyd Garrison founded the American Antislavery Society. In 1832 he helped form the New England Antislavery Society. After taking a short trip to England in 1833, William Lloyd Garrison founded the American Antislavery Society, a national organization dedication to achieving abolition.
