Clothing - Now days most people in Lebanon wear a type of European style if, they live near the city but, in poorer towns you can see many chadors (the traditional veil Muslim women wear). In the countryside, women sometimes wear traditional colorful shirts and men wear a traditional serwal (baggy trousers).

Religions- The main religion of Lebanon would be Islam. Some beliefs of being Muslim is that, “There is no God but Allah,” which is recited daily by the faithful Muslim. The unity of God is a basic tenet of the Muslim faith.Another cherished belief of the Muslims is the belief in angels as messengers of Allah. That concept in Islam differs little from the biblical view. Muslims also believe that Allah has revealed himself through Scripture, including the Old Testament, the Gospels (though not believing them to be accurate), the Quran, and the traditions not contained in the Quran called the Hadith. Of the above sources, only the Quran is totally trusted by Muslims.Islam also holds a strong belief in the prophets,Mohammed being the greatest since he was sent to the entire world. Besides the five basic beliefs, Muslims also have five pillars or observances that follow as part of their faith. The creed or statement of belief: “There is no God but Allah, and Mohammed is the prophet of Allah.”

2. The ritual prayers performed five times a day facing Mecca.

3. Alms giving, offering 1/40 of their income for the needy.

4. Their observance of Ramadan where they fast during the daylight hours.

5. Their pilgrimage to Mecca required of all Muslims before death

Food- The Lebanese diet introduced olive oil, fresh bread, baklava ( a pastry with honey), homemade yogurt, stuffed vegetables, and a variety of nuts. The favorite meat is lamb

Government- the Lebanon is a parliamentary democratic republic. There government is based on a constitution, like the U.S., and a parliament, like the U.K., which elects a president every 6 years. The president and parliament elect a "Prime Minister". The president at the moment is Tamman Salam.

Entertainment- Lebanon 's capital, Beirut is called "The Paris of the Orient" because they have so many nighttime entertainments, from belly dancing to discos. The big cities have lots of art galleries and coffee shops. Numerous sports complexes feature winter sports with skiing, plus ocean sports like scuba diving, surfing, sailing, and yachting.

Economy- Lebanon is the strongest developing economy of its region. The currency is the Lebanese pound. The main businesses are metal products, banking, agriculture, chemicals, and transport equipment. Lebanon is considered a competitive free market.


Lebanon has a typical Mediterranean climate with four distinct seasons. Summer is hot on the coast, spring and autumn are warm and pleasant, winter sees rain with snow in the mountains.
