COURSE REFLECTION:

Due to the nature of my school I don't see my course being completely on line, 5-10% maybe. However, I did enjoy the tools for online learning present here in this course. I have used voice thread before and commented earlier that it had failed with poor student input and discussion. I do realize now why it didn't work as planned, mostly because of me and my inability to engage the student on voice thread. With a better understanding of how I can engage the student with online tools, learned from this course, I will give voice thread a shot again this year with high hopes that I would be much more successful. I plan to use voice thread differently and to be more interactive on voice thread with the students. The most important thing that I learned from this course is not the tools but the process of how to better engage the students. It seems awkward to say so since I am face to face with them at least once a week, but in a large classroom setting, there is always some disconnect between some students and the instructor due to many reasons. Hopefully, tools like voice thread would help bridge this gap for students who are shy or students more comfortable with sending me a question through email rather than speaking up during class.

Hi Der. Great job getting started with Animoto and nice banner. Be sure to upgrade to a free Animoto classroom account to remove the watermark from your banner and allow you to create full length videos: http://www.animoto.com/education/classroom

I'm not sure how I can embed the reflection into my course so I'll post it here . . .
