1.) Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
President Kennedy was a very spiritual leader and was a very humble man. He often thanked God for all he had, and that's why he is poor in spirit.
2.) Blessed are they who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
In the movie, "We Are Marshall" the whole football team was in a deadly plane crash that killed everyone on board. The head coach (Matthew McConaughey's character) and one of the players who didn't happen to be on the plane mourn and struggle to rebuild the team.
3.) Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the land.
Leonardo DiCaprio is a great example because he is compassionate because he created his own foundation to help the environment and donates a lot of money each year.
4.) Blessed are they who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
Atticus Finch was a man who always fought for what was right even if it wasn't the popular choice.
5.) Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.
President Lincoln always forgave others even when they didn't deserve it. He was merciful to all who lived and really was a man before his times.
6.) Blessed are the clean of heart, for they will see God.
Mother Theresa always put God first, others second, and herself third and was a very holy woman.
7.) Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God.
Luke Skywalker always was trying to create peace and protect others by bringing down evil.
8.) Blessed are they who are persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the Kingdom of Heaven.
Herb Brooks was always ridiculed because he believed in a team that no one believed was good enough to win a game, yet alone the Olympics. He took the verbal abuse and instead of negatively reacting, he took it as motivation to do better. His persistence paid off, and the team he coached pulled off "The Miracle on Ice" and won the 1980 Olympics.
