She was a gold medalist, who brought style to the track and field with form fitting body suits and 6 inch fingernails. She holds world record in 100 and 200 meter dash. Florence Joyner was born in Los Angeles, California December 21, 1959. She won silver medal at her first Summer Olympics in 1984. She married fellow athlete Al Joyner.

Florence Joyner is considered to be the worlds fastest woman, earning the nickname "Flo Jo". Her speed was admired since the age of 14, when she won Jesse Owens National Youth Games. At the age of 38 she died from an epileptic seizure that was highly unexpected. Before hand was rumored she was using performance enhancing drugs to improve running times. Florence was one of the greatest athletes, especially female, to ever live although her experience was cut really short from a young death.
