Slavery has made quite a big impact on our lives today. Of course it's illegal today. It did lead into segregation in the 1960s. Some African Americans are still treated differently today. The most important lesson that slavery has taught us today would have to be not to judge people by the color of their skin and to know that it doesn't mean that we can't talk to them and that they are all bad people.
