How Did Slaves go From Africa to the United States?

All slaves were crowded into a boat for their travel across seas. There were layed down for the whole trip and were not allowed to get up. They weren't even able to get up to go to the bathroom. Some would get sick and die from lack off food and water. Once they arrived at their destination they were almost sold right away

Where Was Slavery Most Popular?

Slavery was most popular in southern states such as Georgia and South Carolina. One reason of them being most popular was because there were more farms there. They needed field workers and that's how slavery started in the South.

How did Slavery First Start in America?

While slavery was going on before, Thomas Jefferson was the one who made it legal in the United States. It was even in the bible. Slavery first started in the 1800s. One reason that started slavery was the reason on economic. The rich white people took power over the poor African Americans. Another was the reason of prejudice. It was the belief that white people thought they were better than African Americans just because of the color of their skin. It first started when Virginia started taking the African Americas to work in their fields.

How does this Slavery Continue to Impact our Lives Today?

Slavery has made quite a big impact on our lives today. Of course it's illegal today. It did lead into segregation in the 1960s. Some African Americans are still treated differently today. The most important lesson that slavery has taught us today would have to be not to judge people by the color of their skin and to know that it doesn't mean that we can't talk to them and that they are all bad people.
