Summary: The Vietnam war was a war fought between the United States of America and the north Vietnamese. It lasted 20 years, from 1955-1977. The Vietnam War was a long hard struggle between two countries attempting to change the country of Vietnam, from communism. The United States (with the aid of the South Vietnamese) tried to stop communism. The United States of America spent 140 billion dollars on the Vietnam War. Unfortunately, 58,220 American soldiers died and 153,303 soldiers were wounded. It is one of the most remembered wars in history.
