#2 Corruption

Summary of Corruption in Cameroon

Overall this problem, corruption, effects citizens in a negative way. Corruption impacts the financial, moral, and social aspects of Cameroonian life. It also relates to multiple themes of geography that we have learned this year. Other schema I can relate to this problem would be from our research on why many African countries, many with rich resources, have an overall poor population. Corruption is partially to blame and it is important that awareness is spread. This word cloud helps to do that in a colorful, engaging, yet educational way.

#3 Aids (Orphans)

The following is a political cartoon that illustrates the AIDS epidemic in Africa (Cameroon)

This political cartoon represents the current issue of HIV and AIDS in Africa as well as Cameroon specifically. This pressing issue has affected many orphans in Cameroon. I have found a few out of many organizations that are providing aid to these children. SOS Children's Villages, A Place of Hope, and AIDS Orphans and Street Children, all non-profit organizations, have donated time, money, and help to these orphans. My liason for Cameroon is the founder of A Place of Hope which donates money to pay for school supplies, teachers' salaries, and school funds to send orphans to school. Education is highly valued in Cameroon and these kids do everything they can to learn. The other organizations also provide medicines for AIDS and food/supplies.

#4 Poaching

This infographic has a lot of information. It is all about elephant poaching. It talks all about the ways used to hunt them. It also talks about the major buyers, which are mainly in China and Thailand. It also talks about the decline in the population. The main point is that the ivory trade is growing.
