How does exercise affect your lifespan?
Many people always say that exercising is important for your health. We decided to connect that to our lifespan, and see if exercise has any affect on how long people live.
Based on the research we made, Regular physical activity can relieve tension, anxiety, depression and anger. You may not only notice a "feel good sensation" immediately following your physical activity, but most people also note an improvement in general well-being over time during the weeks and months as physical activity becomes a part of their routine.
Exercise increases the flow of oxygen which directly affects the brain. Your mental acuity and memory can be improved with physical activity. Therefor, exercise affects your health.
Some questions many people ask themselves are:
1.Why are we told to exercise more often? It's stated that your diet accounts for about 80 percent of the benefits you'll reap from a healthy lifestyle, but even if you're eating the best diet in the world, you still need to exercise effectively to reach your highest level of health.
2. What can we do to help change how long we live? One of the key things you can do to extend not only the quantity of your years, but also the quality, is to make a few simple changes to your lifestyle. One of the most important changes is regulating your insulin and lepton levels through diet and exercise.
We decided we were going to research and see how many people actually exercise and what they prefer.
What types of exercises do most people do?
The results we got were very unexpected. 64% of the people said they prefer exercises that involve endurance, although it takes a lot of energy and movement. We also found out that 18% of the people we asked to take our survey preferred flexibility and 18% preferred strength.
After researching about health, exercise, and more to help us with our project, we read about how weight can affect our health and how it is important to be fit. We decided to ask people about their age and health to find out peoples weight and to see if most people are fit or not. To do so, we created a scatter and residual plot to organize our data like shown below. The data was linear because as the age increases, most or the weight increases as well.
Based on the tables and plots above, we determined that many people get tired easily. Exercise will help with keeping us healthy. Just doing any of the exercise in the tables above will help give your health a boost and allow you to live a long and healthy life.
We concluded that most people preferred exercises that involved endurance. This is good because doing exercises that involved endurance in good for your heart, lungs, and health in general. Keeping a healthy balanced body is essential and important in maintaining a nice full life!
